Breck Point, Poulton-le-Fylde - New Build

Construction of a development of five luxury townhouses, located at the heart of Poulton-le-Fylde Breck Point is now established a focal point of the town. Formally the run down Breck Social Club this project has revitalised and provided a clear separation between residential and commercial areas. This impressive building is one of the first things visitors to Poulton (via the train), promoting the towns vision of quality and excellence. FJBS Ltd were engaged by the developer, James Carter Homes Ltd. to act as Principal Contractor.

This, traditional built development employed strip footings and presented a wide range of challenges. Firstly, the site was extremely tight with little or no space for storage, which offered significant logistical problems. FJBS Ltd employed a ’just in time’ policy where materials were scheduled to arrive only when needed (an additional benefit of this method meant that as the materials were incorporated straight into the building the risk of damage was greatly reduced).

A further challenging factor associated with project was it proximity to railway and train station. This meant that in addition to coordinating with the usual service providers (gas, electric, water and BT) we also had to work closely with Network Rail. This required us to provide detailed plans of any crane operations (over and above what usually would be required) in addition to always ensuring safe access to the car park.

This impressive building is one of the first things visitors to Poulton (via the train), promoting the towns vision of quality and excellence, and it should be noted that much of the work was carried out during the Covid Pandemic where the challenges were significantly increased (increased H&S, material supply). FJBS Ltd are very proud to have been a key member of the team responsible for delivering the prestigious project on time and within budget.
